The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center is located in the beautiful Beaver Creek State Park and contains over 350 mounted specimens in natural habitat displays along with live animals found throughout Columbiana County and Ohio.
The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center has live native turtles and snakes as well as a live honeybee display for visitors to see. Mounted mammals include bears, beaver, coyote, muskox, and mountain lions. There are also both bald and golden eagles and many song birds that can be found in and around Columbiana County.
The Audubon Society has named Beaver Creek State Park and some of the surrounding area an “Important Bird Area”. It is a distinctive honor to be named an IBA, and the Beaver Creek State Park area is the only location in Columbiana County to hold this title.
The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center is open from the first weekend of May through the first weekend of October on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm through 5:00pm. The Center is also open by appointment from May through November for school groups and community organizations. For school groups contact Nancy at 330-457-2918.
